Scientific Secrets

It’s giveaway time again! The fab folks at the BBC will send a copy of this fine tome (which features our very own Liz!) to one lucky winner. Just leave a comment below to enter! One comment per person please. The contest ends June 24th. I’ll announce the winner here in the comments and on Twitter. And remember, if you’re Verity! patron, you’re entered automatically! (So please don’t comment because that would be cheating.)

Good luck everyone!

I think some of the dodgiest science in Doctor Who was in The End of Time when the whole planet Gallifrey arrived in Earth’s orbit and there was no astronomical or physical damage to either planet whatsoever.

I love that Liz had her own “In debate of…” show. Perfectly sensible as ever. I would very much like to win this book. The moon is not an egg.

  36. Lauren Messenger said:

I really enjoyed the episode, especially Liz’s defense of “reverse the polarity of the neutron flow” (and also the debate about Kill the Moon–I agree: “It’s not an egg!” would make a great ribbon).

I would love to have this book. I’m with Erica and Kat, I love the idea that the moon is something we didn’t expect it to be, namely an egg. It’s along the lines of the Adipose, for me.

  42. Clara said:

    Me! Me! Please?

  43. Missy Duchesneau said:

    Certainly a nugget of delight!

  44. Trying to defend the “science” in Doctor Who is like trying to defend a time machine built out of a Delorean. Don’t bother. Just go with it. Great episode though. And, of course, I’d like a book!

  45. Some of the science I can “go with,” and some bugs the living $h!7 out of me. I’d be interested to see what a wide range of writers whose opinions I value have to say about some of my own pet peeves. 🙂

  46. Can haz? Pls Pls PLS?

  47. Yes please!

  48. Maggie Reyes said:

The episode was lots of fun! I’d love the book por favor!

    I must be going.

    I’m glad I came,
    But just the same,
    I must be going!
