Six Smart Women Discussing Doctor Who

Verity! BlackOut

We strongly believe the events happening in the United States surrounding the death of George Floyd as well as the systematic racism and police brutality that killed him, call for soul searching and reflection. As a result, we’ve pulled this week’s episode of Verity! Instead we urge you listen to Black voices in Doctor Who, like Time and Relative Blackness in Space (#TARBIS) by Black Girls Create, Black voices in social media like Ava DuVernay and Kenidra Woods, and, most importantly, Black voices in your community.

Rather than listening to us, listen to them.

Never be cruel, never be cowardly… Remember – hate is always foolish…and love, is always wise. – The Doctor

I will definitely listen to the podcast you shared. Thank you. I appreciate when the Verities discuss problematic narratives relating to race when talking through episodes. I wonder if you’ve considered seeking out BIPOC women+ voices to add to team Verity?
