  1. I very much agree that this story does a disservice to Amy’s story arc and that more could have been done with it. Deb’s comment on dads really resonated with me. My partner raised his daughter on his own and did a pretty good job of it so the hapless dad trope kinda annoys me.

  2. I will also die on the Robot of Sherwood hill, it’s one of my favourites of all time.

I’ve never liked the fallout of Amy (and Rory!) losing Melody being glossed over but I’m not sure how well a story like that fits into Doctor Who. Exploring that kind of trauma fully defintely doesn’t but pretending it didn’t happen right after wasn’t great either. I wish it was brought up more, especially after they find out she’s Mels and River. Amy adresses her loss in The Wedding of River Song, and I love that scene.
Night Terrors is ill served by being placed after episodes with such big revelations, but it’s not the’s story’s fault. I’ve always liked it, nothing special but enjoyable to watch.

  3. I agree with the idea of Night Terrors being considered as an introductory vehicle for new viewers. A lot of times fans will like to use the “best” episodes of Doctor Who to hook someone in, but often times, those stories need context; however, Night Terrors stand alone.
