    I’m embarassed I hadn’t spotted the Unit/Division comparison! 🙂

I want to be impressed by the Grand Serpent, and it’s a fabulously louche performance, but I need to understand how he went from grandee of some sort of space empire to… the guy wandering around the 20th century who created UNIT for some reason or other that hasn’t been touched upon yet (and who also presumably sent assassins after Yas and coin the 1900’s)

I hadn’t realised Prentis sounded like “apprentice” but, crossword nerd that I am, noticed that “Prentis” is a near angram of “Serpent”, which given the Master’s love of anagrams and wordplay, doesn’t exactly exclude him from consideration either.

UNIT being shut down was mentioned in “Resolution”, when the Doctor tries to get in touch with them to alert them to the Dalek situation and gets the bored switchboard operator: “Other Armed Forces are available if you can answer a couple of questions to help me best direct your call.”

Cue, and I wish I was making this up, tabloid articles about “Doctor Who” now being “Anti-Brexit”. For clarity, I fully support Chibbers if that was the case, because I cannot imagine the Doctor ever being PRO something like Brexit.

    • I also did not spot the Unit/Division thing. You Are Not Alone.

I did spot the near anagram of Prentis and Serpent, and further that its homophone Prentes IS an anagram! Was hoping that he was credited as Prentes in the show, but no, it’s Prentis.

    My 3 Hot Takes:

    1. Bel and Vinder are the parents of the Timeless Child. She’ll be born on the planet Time, gets her power from being transdimensional, and so on.

    2. I hope The Grand Serpent is The Naga, from Kinda and Snakedance. It ties in with the snake tattoos, and if he’s ‘The Master Before The Master”, just feels too easy.

    3. Everything won’t be wrapped up Sunday, but over the next specials.
