Thank you Liz! I was so perplexed over why everyone thought that was such a great speech. I thought it was a waste of time but had kept it to myself, since it seemed an unpopular opinion. I enjoy Doctor Who so I tend not to keep too large a focus on the bits I don’t like as much and just move onto the bits that I do enjoy. It was validating to hear this and my appreciation is expressed to you here. None of that nonsense and griping over our the less popular opinion from me.

This may be the most I’ve ever heard Liz say in an episode, and I have to say that Liz in “slightly grumpy (but impassioned) historian” mode made some fascinating points I’d never considered before, so thank you for that,

  3. I sense that most people who moan about Doctor Who ‘suddenly’ being political aren’t fans and haven’t seen many episodes of the show. Or if they have, they weren’t paying attention…

In any case, it’s a sure indication that the show is doing something right if it keeps annoying these people. And I have no doubt that RTD is going to revel in feeding the Daily Mail with headlines that will have its readers frothing at the mouth with right-wing outrage. It’s going to be great fun! 🙂
