Yeah, the age factor is a bit dizzying. What do you mean, born in 2004? That was just a couple of years ago! Wait, what do you mean it’s nearly 2023? Who stole the last two decades????
I thought I’d reached the point where I was over it – after all, Matt Smith was 26 when he was announced as 11th Doctor, and I was 39. That seemed pretty grim at the time, but next year I’m going to be 53 and we’ll have a 30 year old Doctor and a 19 year old companion! Gulp.
But I’m not bothered. I actually find it quite exciting and refreshing. Doctor Who already has my devotion, so they don’t need to worry about me. I’m sure the younger casting will help to bring in a whole new generation of young fans – especially if it’s just damn good telly, which I trust it will be!
Can’t wait to see them in action! What do you mean, I have to wait another year????
