It’s Tansy’s turn in the Comfort Who driver’s seat! Join Deb, Erika, Kat, and Tansy as we talk about the ever-delightful “King’s Demons”. Received fan wisdom is just straight-up wrong once again. (Except maybe about Kamelion. Maybe.)
Is this story a comfort for you? Why or why not? Drop us a tweet or let us know in the comments!
For this “lucky 7”, we dip into the seventh story of season 19. Join Deb, Erika, and Katrina as we once again punch received fan wisdom right in the face.
What do you think about “Time-Flight” is it as boring and awful as the masses would have you believe? Or is it actually pretty fun? And what was your take on the mourning for Adric and Tegan’s “cliffhanger” departure? Let us know in the comments!
It’s another old-school first! This time, it’s the first episode directed by Fiona Cumming (though not her first association with Doctor Who), as well as the first Fifth Doctor episode. There’s A Lot of fun to be had. And yes, sometimes there’s a quote so good you just have to give up on shoehorning the DW ep title into the podcast ep title.
What do you think about “Castrovalva”? Do you love the script and direction and acting and everything else all the time? Or did you get bored with the tromping through the forest? Let us know in the comments!
This week it’s Lynne’s turn to pick a companion-tastic story, and bafflingly, she chose Nyssa in “Black Orchid”. Join Deb, Erika, Liz, and Lynne as we discuss all the companions in “Black Orchid”. Lynne does have some strong reasons why Nyssa shines here. Deb thinks it’s a stronger Tegan story. And Erika discovers it’s her new favorite Adric story. It may be a short story, but with the crowded TARDIS of the fifth Doctor era, there are lots of companions to go around!
What do you think of this story? Would you have picked a different Nyssa story? Or can you think of other reasons this is a goor one for her? And do you find Adric boring? Charming? Annoying? Let us know in the comments!
The classic Doctor countdown continues! Join Deb, Erika, Katrina, and Lynne as we discuss the Peter Davison era–the Doctor, the companions, the stories, the relationships, and of course, the costumes. And all of these things in relation to this week’s “representative” episode, “Mawdryn Undead”.
Who loves Doctor number five? Who loves the companions? Who thinks the companions love each other? Who doesn’t? If you’ve been listening a while, some of those answers may be obvious, but perhaps not all!
